Major milestones – ABCs and 123s
Yesterday and today brought exciting new developments – we are so proud to say that Maeve counted up to 10 yesterday in the car and today said her entire alphabet! Tonight at dinner we captured both achievements – the proof of course is on video in the 2008 gallery. Although she said the ABCs more clearly [...]
18 month check-up
Tonight, Maeve survived the ugly weather and her MMR shot. She remembered immediately upon arrival that these visits don’t end well, so she was too scared and upset to show off her 30+ words, social development, or physical advances. She was very brave though, and pretty excited about her Elmo and Dora stickers! Maeve’s weight gain [...]
Happy Easter!
We hope that everyone had a good weekend. Our 18-month-old marveled at the spring snow storm we got on Friday and Grandad taught her how to build her first snowman (we’ll have to wait for Grandad’s pictures to see our masterpiece!). Maeve had lots of opportunities to practice saying Grandad and Nanna this weekend during [...]
When Irish eyes are smiling…
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Maeve turns 18 months old this week and we will take her in for her next check-up at the end of the month. We had a really fun time with our friends Tammy and Tim visiting this past weekend and an Irish get-together with our local cousins, complete with cornbeef and cabbage. Maeve [...]
ABCDEFG!
Yes, Maeve has completed the first part of the alphabet. We are so proud of her! She is quickly approaching 18 months old and her language abilities have achieved overdrive… She is mimicking us and trying out many new words. In addition to practicing her letters, Maeve recently added ”blueberry,” “please,” and “no thank you” (almost) to her vocabulary! We [...]
Fun weekend

We made our first visit to the Kohl Children’s Museum north of Chicago on Saturday. Maeve loved the water play [...]
