Happy Birthday Grandma!

We are enjoying a fun and relaxing weekend at Grandma’s to celebrate her birthday, along with Auntie Beth and Uncle Matt. Maeve and Mommy caught up with friends at playgroup Friday morning before we left, and we had sunshine and clear roads all the way. Maeve was practicing new words today, including “cheese” and “please!” Hope everyone has a good weekend…

17 months old!

Maeve is growing and learning every day – and today she showed us a few more examples of what she has in her bag of tricks! She asked Zlatka for “help” with the circles in the 8 on her playmat and then was saying “I” and “eff” when playing with her alphabet magnets on the fridge. We had lots of fun this weekend, despite the frigid weather. We had a playgroup dance party on Friday and we went to the Field Museum on Saturday to play in the Crown Family Play Lab. Maeve explored the art room with its easel and light table, and the music room which had some drums and bells that she enjoyed. Then we went out for sushi dinner! There are pictures and some fun video in the galleries!

Tomorrow Maeve and Zlatka will venture out in the cold to music class, and when Daddy gets back from DC and Philly, we will head to Michigan to celebrate Grandma’s birthday this weekend. Stay tuned!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

From our sweetheart to you and yours… Wishing you love and happiness on Valentine’s Day! We enjoyed a fun weekend in the Detroit area last weekend visiting Nanna and Grandad, going out on the town with Grandma, Auntie Beth and Uncle Matt, and then attending Aunt April’s bridal shower. We missed Daddy, but had a good time and easy flights thanks to Maeve!

Maeve has started to combine words and a new favorite is when she says “Bye bye feet” as she puts her feet into her sleeper at night. She “counts” pieces of food by pointing to them and says bye bye to her animals when getting out of the tub too. She likes making the sound of a choo choo train, and twirling and clapping to music. I think she really enjoyed the Chicago Children’s Choir performance at the Freedom Museum last week as they did a song called “Freedom Train” that included a train whistle! Maeve also said “Bye bye D” to Duffy and said “Nanna” clearly over the weekend. She uses her sign language skills very effectively and her vocabulary is steadily expanding – we are focused on learning colors and ABCs now!

This weekend will likely be quieter as we’ll be home for a change. We’ll attend playgroup on Friday and maybe set out to play in all of our snow! Look for new pictures in the photo gallery…

New Videos!

Finally – two new videos of Maeve in the gallery. Hope you enjoy them!

Congratulations to the NY Giants on a great Super Bowl victory!
