A few funny Maeve stories…

Rudolph – we brought some of my children’s books home (thanks Mom!) to share with Maeve and after reading them all through once, she only wants “b is for bear” and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer every nap and bed time. At the end of Rudolph, we even get to sing the whole song together! It’s only 4 months after Christmas…

New friends – a cute pig (the main friend for awhile and the one that has a few backups) held the top spot in her heart, but now Maeve has brought a pink kitty cat, a doggie, and a small blue bunny into the fold. They all have been carted around the house and even in the car, but she never allowed them in the crib. Until today, when she decided to include them for naptime…

Steam engine – It’s no secret that Maeve is somewhat obsessed with trains (you might remember the “choo choos are loud” story?) but there has been a new development. We always see and hear trains at Nanna & Grandad’s, but this last trip included a very special train. We visited Greenfield Village and rode on the steam engine – Maeve did not want to get off the train, but enjoyed waving goodbye to the other families as it pulled away. Now when we read her book about Things That Go, she points to the steam engine and says “that’s Greenfield Village!”

Happy Easter!

We  are celebrating Easter this weekend with a visit from Grandma and brunch at Aunt Megan & Uncle Pat’s! We hope that you are enjoying the holiday with family and friends…

This week we also celebrated my birthday – I was spoiled with cards & flowers, treated to lunch by Megan, Lucy, Aunt Cinda & Uncle Bill, and had a great night out with two girlfriends!

We needed this fun to take the sting out of coming back from paradise…we had a wonderful trip to the Bahamas last week to visit Gigi and Aunt Nancy. We enjoyed perfect weather, spending the mornings in the pool and the afternoons in the hammock and at the beach. Maeve was jumping into the pool by herself at the end of the week! I posted the pictures this weekend – so many good memories. If you have some extra time, it’s fun to compare the Bahamas photos to the Nassau folder from Nov. 9, 2007!
