Photo gallery update

Unfortunately, Maeve and mommy did not make it to Grandma’s today due to snowy roads in Michigan. We will have to update the photo gallery instead. The files are dated to help you know the last time we added pictures to them.

This week…

It was a busy one. We got some snow, so we tried an exploration and learned that snow is cold and wet. Overall, Maeve was not fascinated by the snow.

SNOW

Maeve and mommy were on the go this week traveling all over town to various appointments, lunch dates and classes. We held down the fort while daddy was in DC on business. In addition to our music and yoga classes, we had playdates with our friends Gaby and Ben, and Mia.

We also shopped on Michigan Ave. and visited mommy’s work friends one day, and shopped in Lincoln Park with our friend Lona. Maeve loves her new favorite toy – thank you Sage!

Four Months Old

Maeve turned four months old on Friday and to celebrate, she went shopping with mommy and Grand Aunt Peggy, and had a nice dinner with her parents. She loves her new wooden rattle toy with all its bright colors! Yesterday we continued the celebration at Pinky’s where all the girls (Aunts Megan, Katie, Anne and Peggy) got their nails done. Maeve really enjoyed the view from the pedicure chairs and was so good that mommy was able to get pampered too. This fun afternoon concluded with a nice walk and lunch at Uncommon Ground!

Maeve’s FEET

Maeve discovered her feet today! We thought she might be close because she started really looking at them when she was in a supported seated position and touched them a few times during diaper changes the past few days. By this afternoon she was putting her legs up, grabbing onto her feet, and then rolling over to one side. The talent, style and grace…perhaps she will be a great diver one day?

Chris, Alexandra and Maeve all went to a “how to make baby food” class at the Chopping Block this morning. Very exciting pureed vegetables were served and these, along with our recent gifts of a food mill and a highly-rated cookbook called “First Meals,” are very motivating – but Maeve will not begin solid foods for another two months.

Alexandra and Maeve had their Lullabies class yesterday at the Old Town School of Folk Music – Maeve really enjoys the songs and looking at the other babies! We are looking forward to a visit from Grand Aunt Peggy tomorrow and going to play games at our friends Nikki & Gwen’s house tomorrow night.

Happy Birthday Grandad!

Today is Grandad’s birthday…we hope he is enjoying his special day! Click the arrow below to hear an appropriate birthday song.

Maeve has had a busy couple of days. We went to a playgroup at our friends Amy & Mia’s house on Sunday and then had a fun visit with Aunt Megan yesterday. Today we are relaxing at home…although we did have fun sitting at the table together for lunch – Maeve was in her new highchair!

Sleep update

Maeve is such a good sleeper! She actually slept through the night the last three nights, and last night she had her longest stretch ever – from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. We are so proud! She is enjoying visits with Grandma and Aunt April this weekend…

Four-month Checkup

Maeve got a great report from the pediatrician tonight and was a trooper with her shots. They weren’t fun, but we survived and she is resting comfortably now. Her growth and development are right on track! She is making good eye contact, is very smiley and loves to giggle, she does really well with tummy time and is able to prop herself up on her arms, and clasps her hands together (in order to stuff as many finges as possible in her mouth!)… She’s also a great sleeper – she usually goes for 3-4 hours at a stretch during the night but has been known to sleep all the way through.

Maeve is almost 4 months old…

This is our attempt to catalog Maeve’s development and keep our friends and family updated on all of her exciting accomplishments! For example, she rolled over from her front to her back earlier this week. We also went to our first Lullabies music class today and had fun celebrating Aunt Katie’s birthday at Sola!
