Some great phrases of late:
“watch me do!”
“I can do it all myself!”
“come on – I show you something” (usually something she knows we won’t approve of!)
“it’s special?” (in response to any conversation about dessert)
“it almost rains”
“you go on the potty, I’m gonna hide”
she’s big on going first – out the door, down the stairs and into her rocking chair. she’ll say things like “you stay here, I’m gonna go rock,” and “you stay here, I’m gonna go first.”
Maeve is very affectionate. She says “I love you so much” but we’re still not sure why she likes to kiss our knees before bed.
She still loves drawing, painting, stickers and glue but has become very interested in her scissors so we hold the paper for her to cut. We’re hoping she doesn’t turn them on her hair!
We have lots of fun listening to music in the car. When I can convince her to listen to the radio instead of her Ms. Julie CD, she remembers that she’s also a huge fan of the Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, Pink, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, and No Doubt – bopping her head to the beat and even singing along!
We’re heading up to Nanna and Grandad’s boat this week and then when we get back it’ll be time to try the potty training in earnest and start our classes and preschool! Where did summer go and how is my baby almost 3 already?
